HARVICK AT KANSAS: In just 10 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) starts at Kansas Speedway, Harvick has one win (2006) and posted six top-five and seven top- 10 efforts. In fact, the veteran racer has just one finish outside the top 15, which came in his first NXS start at the track back in 2001. In this event last year, Harvick piloted the No. 5 Chevy for JR Motorsports (JRM) to a second-place finish, and led a race-high 47 laps.
HARVICK’S SEASON RECAP: Harvick has two wins (Atlanta and Fontana), four top-five and eight top-10 efforts in 10 NXS starts this season for JRM. In his most recent race, Darlington in September, Harvick drove the No. 88 Chevrolet to a fourth-place finish.
CLOSING IN ON A MILESTONE: Harvick is just three NXS victories away from tying Mark Martin for second on the all-time series win list. Martin wrapped up his NXS career with 49 victories; Harvick currently has 46. While Harvick won’t be able to catch Martin in 2015, he’ll have two more chances to get closer before season’s end, coming this weekend at Kansas and on Nov. 7 at Texas Motor Speedway.
