LAS VEGAS (Jan. 29, 2012) – NASCAR Sprint Cup Series star Kevin Harvick visited Las Vegas today to promote the March 9-11 NASCAR Weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.

Harvick, driver of the No. 29 Budweiser Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, played craps with fans at the Bellagio Hotel & Casino. Fans won the opportunity to shoot craps with Harvick through local radio, television and social media contests.

One lucky winner was Matt Parillo of Las Vegas, who earned his place at the table by convincing the LVMS Facebook page administrators he was a big fan of the Bakersfield, Calif. native.

“I posted a picture on the Las Vegas Motor Speedway Facebook page and they chose me,” said Parillo. “I’ve followed him since he was at Richard Childress (Racing) in his rookie year and I’ve been a fan ever since. It was fun to play craps with Kevin. It’s a unique experience – something I’ve never done before.”

“We came in last night,” Harvick said. “We’ll spend tonight and tomorrow morning here. We’re taking some time to relax and hang out with our friend and have fun. Playing craps with the fans was really neat. I got to come to an appearance, play craps and drink beer, so it was a lot of fun.”

LVMS has added an exciting new feature to this year’s March 11 Kobalt Tools 400: fan access to the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series drivers’ meeting on Sunday morning. Weather permitting, the pre-race drivers’ meeting will be held in the Neon Garage, adjacent to the main stage and fans holding a weekend or Sunday Neon Garage pass are invited to attend.

Stratosphere Pole Day will be Friday, March 9 with NASCAR Sprint Cup Series qualifying beginning at 3:40 p.m. The Sam’s Town 300 for the NASCAR Nationwide Series will take place on Saturday, March 10.

The race weekend kicks off Wednesday, March 7 with IMCA Modified and West Coast Late Model racing at the Dirt Track. The World of Outlaws Sprint Cars Series will take center stage at the Dirt Track on Thursday and will be joined by the 360 Sprint Car Series.

Tickets for the NASCAR Weekend are on sale at www.lvms.com or by calling (800) 644-4444. Neon Garage passes, Lucky 7 preferred parking and driver introduction passes also are available.
