“Indianapolis has always been a good track for me throughout the years and I look forward to getting back there this weekend in the No. 88 Morton Buildings Chevrolet.

“We are bringing a new car this weekend, so I’m looking forward to seeing what Dave (Elenz) and the entire team have put together. We’ve spent a lot of time talking about how we can get better as a team and we’re putting some of those ideas in use, so hopefully it pays off this weekend.”

Notes | No. 88 Team

HARVICK AT INDY: In both of his two starts at Indianapolis Motor Speedway (IMS) in the NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS), Kevin Harvick has finished in the top five. His first start at the 2.5-mile oval with JRM came last July, and the two-time NXS champion led 33 laps en route to a fourth-place finish. His average start over those two NXS races is 9.5, while his average finishing position is a stout 4.5.

BRICKYARD SUCCESS: The reigning NASCAR Sprint Cup champion has an impressive record at the Brickyard. While he’s never finished outside of the top five in the NXS, his Cup stats are also quite notable. In 14 starts, he has one Brickyard 400 win (July 2003), earned the pole last July, and has four top fives, eight top 10s, an average finish of 10.7, and has led 106 total laps at the facility.

BRAND-NEW RACE CAR: The No. 88 team will unload with a “sticker” chassis, No. 954, this weekend at Indy. The Hendrick Motorsports-manufactured chassis will incorporate several new suspension components, and the updated technology should assist Harvick and the No. 88 team in their quest to kiss the bricks at IMS.

MORTON BUILDINGS: The post-frame-building construction company will return to the No. 88 for the second time in 2015. In their first race of the season as the primary partner, Harvick drove the black-and-red Morton Buildings Chevrolet Camaro to a sixth-place finish at Michigan International Speedway.

HARVICK’S JRM SCHEDULE: Following Indy, the veteran has four races remaining in the JR Motorsports No. 88 Chevy this season: Bristol (Aug. 21), Darlington (Sept. 5), Kansas (Oct. 17) and Texas (Nov. 7). In addition to his NXS events in the No. 88, he’ll also pilot the No. 00 Haas Automation Chevrolet Silverado for JRM in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Pocono Raceway on Aug. 1.
