Quotes | Kevin Harvick

“Richmond (International Raceway) has been a great track for me, especially in the XFINITY Series. It’s one of the most unique short tracks that we visit, and has multiple grooves that make it fun to drive.

I think this JR Motorsports team is improving and gaining confidence each week, and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can do in the No. 88 Hunt Brothers Chevy this weekend. Friday is a packed schedule, so we’ll have to stay on top of adjustments to the car to set us up for what we hope will be a successful race.”

Notes | No. 88 Team

HARVICK AT RICHMOND: In his 26 NASCAR XFINITY Series (NXS) starts at Richmond International Raceway (RIR), Kevin Harvick has earned seven wins, two poles, 18 top- five and 21 top-10 finishes. The defending race winner has led almost 1,400 laps at the 0.75-mile, D-shaped oval. The two-time NXS champion also holds the records for all-time NXS wins and the most top-five, top-10 and lead-lap NXS finishes at RIR.

DEFENDING WINNER: After leading 202 laps in the April 2014 NXS event at Richmond, Harvick earned his first of four season wins. The victory was the first for JRM at Richmond and capped one of the most successful months of racing in company history, during which JRM won every race en route to three consecutive victories.

RECORD WITHIN REACH: Harvick is closing in on a milestone. With one more top five, he will tie Kyle Busch for the most all-time top-five NXS finishes at 175. Additionally, the JR Motorsports driver is also catching up with second-place Mark Martin on the all-time NXS win list. Harvick has 46 victories to Martin’s 49. Harvick is also currently on a streak of 29 consecutive top-10 NXS finishes, dating back to March 2013.

CHASSIS SELECTION: The No. 88 team will unload with chassis No. 862 this weekend. The chassis is relatively new, only having been raced four times, twice at RIR and twice at Phoenix International Raceway. Three of those races have been with Harvick at the wheel, where he’s earned one win (Richmond, April 2014) and never finished worse than third.

HUNT BROTHERS PIZZA: The No. 88 Chevrolet Camaro will sport the Hunt Brothers Pizza colors again this weekend for the second of five races. While Harvick has yet to score his first NXS victory with the made-to-order pizza company as the primary, he has earned seven top-five and 11 top-10 finishes in his 12 races in the Hunt Brothers Pizza Chevy.
