Quotes | Kevin Harvick

“We’re bringing the same car we took to Fontana two weeks ago. Both tracks have aged surfaces and more tire fall off than we normally see so I feel like that is an area we will be able to capitalize. If we’re able to manage our tires and put ourselves in the right position at the end, I think we can have another great race with our Hunt Brothers Pizza Chevy.”

Notes | No. 5 Team

STRONG START: Harvick has scored top-three finishes in his first three NASCAR Nationwide Series races with JR Motorsports. The two-time champion posted runner-up results at Phoenix International Raceway and Auto Club Speedway along with a third-place effort at Bristol Motor Speedway

TEXAS TRIUMPHS: Harvick ranks second behind Kyle Busch in both victories (five) and laps led (654) in NNS competition at Texas Motor Speedway. The most recent of Harvick’s victories at the track came on Nov. 3, 2012, working with crew chief Ernie Cope. He also holds one victory at the track in NASCAR Camping World Truck Series action.

SECOND CHANCE: The No. 5 team will unload Chassis No. 866 at Texas Motor Speedway. In its first race two weeks ago at Auto Club Speedway, Harvick wheeled the chassis to a second-place finish after an intense three-way battle for the victory with Kyle Larson and Kyle Busch.

FAST FOURSOME: Following its fourth consecutive finish of fourth or better, the No. 5 team ranks fourth in NNS owner points. Over the past four races, the No. 5 (formerly No. 88) joined the Nos. 22, 42 and 54 cars making up the top-four finishers in each event.

A JRM FIRST: This weekend will mark the first time JR Motorsports has entered four cars in a race.  Drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr. (No. 88), Chase Elliott (No. 9), Kevin Harvick (No. 5) and Regan Smith (No. 7) will all race under the JRM banner at TMS.

RACE TO WIN SWEEPSTAKES: Now through May 31, race fans can enter to win the ultimate race weekend package in Hunt Brothers Pizza’s ‘Race to Win’ sweepstakes. One grand prize winner will receive a meet-and-greet with Kevin Harvick and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in addition to a trip to the Texas race weekend in November with infield accommodations provided by Winnebago.
