Qualifying Results
• Kevin Harvick and the No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet SS team will start Sunday’s STP 500 from the 18th position after posting a lap time of 19.184 seconds and a speed of 98.707 mph in Friday’s qualifying session at Martinsville Speedway.
• Kyle Busch scored the pole award for Sunday’s race with a fast lap time of 18.998 seconds and a speed of 99.674 mph. Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon complete the top-five starting positions.
• Harvick’s team completed a total of 34 laps in Friday’s 90-minute practice session. His second mock-qualifying run put the No. 4 Budweiser Chevrolet team 18th on the speed chart.
• NASCAR Sprint Cup Series teams are scheduled for two additional practice sessions on Saturday at 10 a.m. EDT and 1 p.m. EDT. FOX Sports 1 will provide live coverage of the first session while FOX Sports 2 will carry the broadcast of final practice.
The following is the starting position of the other SHR teams in Sunday's race:
• Tony Stewart and the No. 14 Code 3 Associates/Mobil 1 Chevrolet team will start seventh.
• Danica Patrick and the No. 10 GoDaddy/Get Found Chevrolet team will start 10th.
• Kurt Busch and the No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet team will start 22nd.
