Rain canceled Saturday’s qualifying session for the Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Daytona (Fla.) International Speedway. As a result, the 43-car field for Sunday’s 160-lap event around the 2.5-mile oval was set by taking the fastest lap each driver posted during Friday’s first practice session, per the NASCAR rulebook.

Danica Patrick, driver of the No. 10 GoDaddy Chevrolet SS for Stewart-Haas Racing (SHR), will start 28th. Kurt Busch, driver of the No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet for SHR, will start 29th. Tony Stewart, driver of the No. 14 Bass Pro Shops/Ducks Unlimited Chevrolet SS for SHR, will start 32nd. Kevin Harvick, driver of the No. 4 Jimmy John’s/Budweiser Chevrolet SS for SHR, will start 34th.

Patrick’s fast lap in practice was 45.264 seconds at 198.834 mph. Busch turned a lap of 45.271 seconds at 198.803 mph. Stewart timed in at 45.353 seconds at 198.443 mph. Harvick stopped the clock in 45.429 seconds at 198.111 mph.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. will start first as he posted the fastest speed in Friday’s first practice session with a lap of 44.492 seconds at 202.284 mph. Joining him on the outside of row one is Austin Dillon, who timed in at 44.540 seconds at 202.066 mph. Clint Bowyer (44.556 seconds at 201.993 mph), Paul Menard (44.561 seconds at 201.970 mph) and Trevor Bayne (44.582 seconds at 201.875 mph) comprised the remainder of the top-five.

The Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola gets underway at 7:45 p.m. EDT on Sunday with live coverage provided by NBC beginning with a pre-race show at 7 p.m.
