Welcome Aboard!

SHORT TRACK SUCCESS: Sadler is no stranger to victory lane at one-mile race tracks.  Of Sadler’s five career Nationwide Series wins three were scored at tracks one mile in length.  His first and his most recent wins were both at one-mile tracks, Nazareth Speedway in May of 1997 and his most recent win at Rockingham Speedway, another one-mile track came in October of 1998.

FEELS LIKE THE FIRST TIME: Phoenix International Raceway (PIR) is a part of KHI’s young history as the organization captured its first win at the desert track. KHI co-owner Kevin Harvick brought home the first win for the team at PIR in the Truck Series event in 2002. Harvick narrowly beat series veteran Ted Musgrave for the victory and became only the fifth driver in history to win a race in all three of NASCAR’s national racing series.

10 YEARS OF RACING: In 2011, KHI will celebrate their 10th year of competition in NASCAR.  Team co-owner Kevin Harvick made KHI’s first start in the Truck Series event at Richmond (Va.) International Raceway in 2001, narrowly missing the win by inches to series veteran Jack Sprague.  Ten years later Kevin and DeLana Harvick have two NASCAR Camping World Truck Series championships to their credit and multiple wins with a host of drivers to boast in their over 80,000 square foot facility in Kernersville, North Carolina.  During 2011 all KHI vehicles will carry a commemorative decal as the company celebrates its accomplishments over the last 10 years.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 team will utilize chassis No. 068 this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. Chassis No. 0 is

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Sadler and the No. 2 team started off the 2011 season at Daytona International Speedway last weekend with a 38th-place finish following involvement in a crash on lap 24.  The No. 2 Chevrolet Impala sustained heavy front-end damage but the team was able to make repairs to the car after 73 laps to gain valuable championship points.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Elliott Sadler
What are your thoughts going into the race at Phoenix?
“Kevin Harvick has won in about everything there is to win at Phoenix!  I know that the team has a good set of notes across both their Truck and Nationwide Series programs.  I’m looking forward to Phoenix because the track is so different at both ends.  I enjoy running there both in the day and at night but at night the track really opens up.  It is a multi-grove track and I really like being able to work my car in all the lines around the oval. ”
