Clint Bowyer Phoenix International Raceway Advance

11/08/10

WELCOME BACK: Clint Bowyer will return to Kevin Harvick Inc. (KHI) for the first time since 2007 to pilot the No. 2 Kroger Chevrolet Silverado. Bowyer has
been behind the wheel of the No. 2 truck in the past, running four races for KHI in 2007 (Atlanta Motor Speedway, Dover (Del.) International Speedway, New Hampshire Motor Speedway and Martinsville (Va.) Speedway.) Bowyer’s best finish in a KHI truck was fifth in Atlanta.

MASTERING THE MILE: Although Bowyer has never competed in a truck Series event at Phoenix International Raceway, he has exhibited strong performances in both the Nationwide and Truck Series at the one-mile track. Bowyer has one win (Spring of 2007) and one pole (Fall of 2007) in the Nationwide Series and has completed 100 percent of the laps attempted (2015) at the track. Bowyer has yet to score a win in the Cup Series at Phoenix, but has earned two top-five finishes and four top-10 finishes at the track, in addition to completing 99.7 percent of the laps attempted (3178 of 3187).

BACK TO BLUE: Longtime KHI partner Kroger returns to the No. 2 Chevrolet Silverado as primary sponsor for the second time in 2010. Serving as an associate sponsor for several races in 2010, Kroger debuted their blue and red primary paint scheme in September at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, where Ken Schrader drove the Kroger machine to his sixth consecutive top 10 in a KHI truck.

THOUGHTS FROM THE DRIVER: Clint Bowyer

How do you feel going into this week’s race at Phoenix International Raceway?
“I’m very excited to be stepping back behind the wheel for Kevin and DeLana [Harvick] for the first time since 2007. KHI has had a lot of success in the Truck Series in 2010, and I have no doubt that we can continue that success this weekend in the No. 2 Kroger Chevrolet.”

PREVIOUS RACE RECAP: Last weekend at Texas Motor Speedway, Elliott Sadler scored a solid top-five finish in his sixth Truck Series race of the season. Sadler fought the handling of the No. 2 Realtree Chevrolet Silverado for a majority of the WinStar World Casino 350K, but rallied back to finish fifth, earning the No. 2 team its 14th top-five finish of the season.

CHASSIS HISTORY: The No. 2 team will utilize chassis No. 050 this weekend at Phoenix International Raceway. This is a brand-new chassis which will be making its first laps when it hits the track for first practice on Thursday.
