  Kan's Fried Chicken

Ingredients: 
  • 1 Whole cut-up chicken
     
  • 3 Large Eggs 
     
  • 1/4C Buttermilk (1/4C milk + 1Tbsp white vinegar may be substituted) 
     
  • 2C All purpose Flour 
     
  • 3Tbsp Garlic Powder 
     
  • 2Tbsp Onion Powder 
     
  • 1C Crisco or Vegetable Oil 
     
  • Pinch salt and pepper 
     
  • 1 Small paper or plastic bag
Preparations:
1.Put flour and seasonings in bag, mix well
2.Mix eggs and buttermilk in Large bowl 
3.Dip chicken pieces in egg mixture 
4.Place coated chicken in bag and shake until well covered with flour mix. 
5.Repeat step 4 and set aside 
6.Do this until all chicken is coated 
7.Heat crisco or oil until a drop or 2 of water dances. about 300 
8.place chicken in pan and turn until all sides have browned. 
9.lower heat and cover with foil 
10.cook until chicken is fully cooked all the way through about 15min 
11.return chicken to high heat uncover 
12. fry until outsides crisps then ready to serve
Comments:
I love this recipe a little time consuming, but well worth it. Total process takes about an hour or so. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do!!
