One "LO" Harvick had her body cast removed yesterday, twelve weeks after
having surgery to repair vertebra in her neck.
"The doctor said LO can go about her normal, daily doggy duties just as
she did before the surgery," Kevin explained. "Falling and hitting
her chin, which could possibly break the screws in her neck, is our main
concern. But, D and I are going to make sure she takes it down a
notch or two, at least for the next couple of months."
Despite the delicate nature of the surgery and the fact that LO was in a
body cast for over three months, no physical therapy will be required.
The doctor told Kevin and DeLana that the best medicine for LO right now
is walking, and they'll make sure she gets plenty of it.
The doctor added that the surgery took care of LO's issues and that
things are looking up for the little pup.
"The doctor feels the surgery was very successful," Kevin said. "In fact,
he said that he wished all of his
patients
with this type of injury progressed and healed like LO."
DeLana added, "LO is one happy little doggie. It's a little awkward
for her right now since the two-pound cast came off - which is half of
her body weight! But, she is doing fantastic, and Kevin and I
couldn't be happier. Now, hopefully things can get back to normal."
Kevin and DeLana wanted to thank everyone again for their concern and
support for LO over the past few months. "It meant a lot," Kevin
said. "My fans are great!" |
