Testing, Testing 1, 2, 3……

Kevin Harvick will be back in Daytona next week for the second wave of NASCAR Pre-season Thunder testing for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.  This will be a three-day test session, which begins on Monday morning. Among the drivers on hand to participate in this three day event will be Ryan Newman, RCR teammate Jeff Burton, Tony Stewart, Dale Earnhardt Jr., Denny Hamlin and the current Daytona 500 champion Kevin Harvick.

“I look forward to going down to Daytona and seeing where we stack up against all the other teams,” said Harvick.  “Being a new year, with a new car, you don’t really know what to expect,” continued Harvick.

During this test session, teams will have the opportunity to draft in preparation for the 50th running of the Daytona 500 on Sunday, February 17, 2008.

During the test session, Kevin Harvick will be making a public appearance at the Pre-Season Thunder Fan Fest on Tuesday, February 15, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. This appearance will take place inside the track at the Sprint FanZone.  Fans will have the opportunity to listen to Kevin discuss the upcoming season while he prepares to defend his Daytona 500 title.

Once the NASCAR Sprint Cup test session is complete Kevin will stick around and participate in the first NASCAR Nationwide Series test session of the year, which begins January 18, 2008.  Harvick will jump behind the wheel of the No. 33 KHI Chevrolet in 2008. Harvick, a two-time NASCAR Nationwide Series champion, will pilot the No. 33 Chevrolet for 22 of the 35 race throughout the season.

“I am really looking forward to this opportunity to test my own car at Daytona,” said Harvick. “This will be the first year that I will only race for Kevin Harvick Inc. in the Nationwide Series.  My goal is to go out and be competitive and win races for KHI.”
